Changelog
Everything that changed on alias, newest first.
2026-10-31: easy to find
- new: Your page tells search engines and AI assistants who you are, linked to the accounts alias verified as yours.
- new: alias vs Linktree, Beacons and Carrd, each on a page of its own: what staying costs, every row side by side, and how to bring your links over.
- improved: Show up in search off now keeps your page out of the list alias.boo gives search engines too.
- fixed: Links to alias.boo that start with http:// land on the secure page.
- fixed: The buttons that move on their own ease in when you point at them, the first time too: the arrow turns and the bead rolls in, no jump.
2026-10-29: on the clock
- new: alias opens on Saturday 5 December. The home page counts down to it, in your own time.
- new: The new dashboard is the Studio for everyone: your page, your links, your stats and your settings in one place, with the page live beside them. Studio 2.0 is a click away in the menu.
- new: Your uploads have a screen of their own in the Studio: every file on your page, what it is for, and the room left.
- new: Extra handles and custom badges are open now, in early access too, for everyone who got in.
- new: Three new sections: the games you play (with their Steam art), a q&a that answers like a chat, and a list of your favorite anything.
- new: Your gallery as a wall, a carousel or a film strip, and section titles ruled, hidden, or with Plus up the side or big as a poster.
- new: Your banner can take turns with up to four more pictures.
- new: Portrait: a layout with your photo tall beside who you are, and it comes in first.
- new: Your Discord profile as a widget: your name, your server tag, your badges and your status.
- new: Now playing: a song card with no buttons, its lyrics a tap away. Or no player at all, with a volume control always in the corner.
- new: Tap to play: no enter screen, and the first tap anywhere starts your song.
- new: Timer in the tab: it counts how long someone has been on your page.
- new: Cursors: a pack to pick from, chrome hearts to soft pastels, or any picture of yours made into a cursor at the right size, and you choose how big. A cursor of your own is part of Plus now.
- new: Echo, a trail that is your own pointer fading behind it, and Halo with Plus, a ring of dots that leans back as you move.
- new: Your world can just be a world: switch off what it does on a click, or how it follows the pointer.
- new: The player and your widgets can wear your card's own look, its edge and its light.
- new: The section nav comes as plain dots too, in your size and color, and on Reel you pick it like anywhere else.
- new: Take the alias mark off your page: no end card, no claim yours line.
- improved: Entrances bring your page in like it is arriving: glass fades in whole, the banner draws down, and Signal uncovers the page as its line passes.
- improved: Reel moves one screen at a time, smoothly, on a wheel turn or a key.
- improved: The player's lyrics fold away while the song is paused.
- improved: The features and pricing pages show everything that is new.
- improved: The privacy policy says exactly what a Discord or Google sign in shares with alias, and how it is kept.
- fixed: No more scroll bars showing on the Tabs card and a few other boxes when the pointer moves over them.
- fixed: A search in the Studio takes you to the setting once, not again every time you come back to that tab.
2026-10-29: made to measure
- new: The section nav comes in five looks: ticks, stones and an index for everyone, a folio and a rail with Plus. Put it on either side, and pick when it says the names, or never.
- new: Your verified handles get looks of their own: chips, tiles or bare lines, and with Plus chrome plates, rarity cards or a ticker. Line them up, give them a title, and put them in your card, under it, beside it or in a section of their own.
- new: Widgets get looks and effects: glass, matte, wire, tinted or bare, leaning to the pointer, lifting or lighting up, and with Plus a shine, a float or a holo foil. Each widget can have its own, and the column can stand on either side.
- new: Twelve more cursor trails: Ribbon, Beads, Starlight and Hearts for everyone, and Threads, Prism, Liquid chrome, Pixie dust, Pixels, Smoke, Live wire and Embers with Plus. Pick their color, their size and how long they hang on.
- new: Click effects on every click and tap: a ring or a burst for everyone, stars, hearts, confetti or a shockwave with Plus.
- new: Five more sounds for the tap: Tick, Pop, Thud, Bubble and Tape. Play it on the tap in, on the first tap anywhere, or on every tap, as loud as you like.
- improved: Stickers move on the first press in the Studio and by touch on a phone, two fingers pinch and turn them, and a picked one has size and turn sliders.
- fixed: Dark stickers sit on a pale tile in the picker so you can see them, and the picker holds still under the pointer.
- fixed: The Beads trail holds together on fast flicks.
- improved: Try it in the Studio starts where a visitor does: on the enter screen, with its tap, its sound and your song.
- improved: The worlds with fine grain in them lost their seams: Moonlit, Ether, Veil, Event Horizon and Contour look cleaner.
- new: A new logo: in your browser tab and on every alias link shared anywhere.
- new: The Discord wears the new logo too: the server icon, its banner, the invite background and the bot.
2026-10-28: turn it up
- new: Overlays over your whole page: snow for everyone, and with Plus embers, petals, twinkling stars, dust in the light or a clip of your own. As much or as little as you like.
- new: A light on the edge of your card: Breathe for everyone, a Comet running round it and an Electric live wire with Plus.
- new: Your photo as pixel art, fine or chunky.
- new: Three more ways for your name to move: Pulse breathes, Split slides apart and snaps back, Sparkle catches the light.
- new: Bio effects: a glow and a flowing gradient for everyone, and with Plus chrome, a passing shine, a rainbow, neon or Decode.
- new: Your card can float or sway on its own. With Plus a light plays over it: a shine, a holographic foil or a glare that follows the pointer.
- new: New ways out of the enter screen: Lift for everyone, and Warp, Power off and Iris (it opens from where they tap) with Plus. Plus also gives the tap a sound: six made right in the browser, or your own.
- new: Turn the Gradient world any way you like.
- new: Apple Music in your music section and Twitch in your video section: paste a song, an album, a channel or a clip, and it plays right on your page.
- new: The Studio stays the same in every tab you have open: a change in one shows in the others at once.
- new: Make your share picture from your page: your photo or banner, cropped and zoomed, softened, with a stripe carrying your name.
- new: Plus tickets in the Discord go to the top and get answered first.
- new: Eight new worlds: Wisp, Broadcast, Ether, Beacon, Shockwave, Ferro, Drift and Whiteout. Each one answers your cursor its own way.
- new: Your world can move with the phone: it follows the tilt, and drifts by itself while nothing touches it.
- new: Milestone badges: 100, 1K, 10K and 100K views, the same for taps on your links, and a badge for every year on alias. Each one levels up in place, bronze to silver to gold to pink.
- new: Icons in your bio: write :github:, :spotify:, and the like and they turn into their logos and symbols. With Plus, five emoji of your own.
- new: A text font of its own for your bio and links, apart from your name.
- new: Crop your photo: zoom in and pick which part shows. Move your banner up or down, and let a cut out banner break out over the top of your card.
- new: Two more lights for your card: an aurora in your colors drifting inside it, and a scan line running down it.
- fixed: The sliders for photo opacity, overlay amount, banner fade and text sizes move in small steps now, and an overlay clip can be a video you upload.
- new: Two new cursors: an emoji of your choice trailing the pointer, or a word of your own riding beside it in your name's font.
- new: Set how see-through and how soft your photo is, how big your name and bio are, and how far your banner fades into the card.
- new: Line your links up left, center or right, make your icons bigger or smaller, and try the new Outline hover.
- new: Keep your page out of Google and other search engines with one switch, under sharing.
2026-10-28: links, sorted
- new: Headings between your links, so music, socials and the rest each get their own spot.
- new: Feature one link: it goes big, the width of your links, with a line of your own under it.
- new: Hide a link without deleting it, or give it a time: it shows up and goes away by itself.
- new: Bring your links over from Linktree, Beacons, bio.link and others: paste your page and tick what to keep.
- improved: Room for 50 links now, up from 12.
2026-10-28: the new look
- improved: A new look across the site: wide, heavy headings in chrome and gold, and one typeface everywhere.
- new: Links catch the light when you point at them, and buttons have a move of their own.
- improved: The logo writes itself out, and a chrome light runs through it once it is done.
- improved: Pricing has the two necklaces, itemized receipts, price tags for extra handles and coins you can flip.
- new: Every member has a number now, their UID, counted by the day they joined. It is on your card and your page, and you can hide it.
- new: Handles can be 1 to 20 characters. The short ones, 1 to 3, are for Plus members.
- fixed: Chrome and gold words never cut off a letter at the edge any more.
- improved: Every page wears the new look now: explore, compare, help, status, the changelog, the leaderboard, templates, the app, redeem and the legal pages.
- new: The features page is a charm bracelet: tap a charm to jump to its part, and every part runs live in a glass case of its own.
- new: Explore prices any name in a second, shows who just got here and who holds the rarest handles, and finds anyone's page by name.
- new: Compare shows what one to five years of the others costs next to Plus, paid once.
- improved: Your alias card wears the new logo and look, with your UID on both sides.
- fixed: The flip button under your alias card in the Studio works with a mouse again.
2026-10-28: the way in
- new: The waitlist is your email and the name you want. Confirm the email and you're in line, the name held for you.
- new: Invite links sign you up right there: your email, your name and a password. No code to paste.
- improved: On the waitlist already? Sign up from an invite with the same email and your held name comes up by itself. Pick another and the old one stays yours for 2 days.
- improved: The Studio opens once you're in and your email is confirmed. Link Discord or Google after, for a quicker sign in.
- improved: Passes: 3 to start and 2 more as your friends put their pages up, 5 in all. Plug is still 5 people.
2026-10-28: smoother
- fixed: Dragging a song back and forth fast no longer breaks it or stops it: the bar and the lyrics follow your finger both ways, and the song jumps once you let go.
- fixed: The Blockbuster filter grades the page like a film now, with a lens streak drifting by, and no black bars over the top and bottom.
- improved: A widget that can't load says why in the Studio, with how to fix it (an invite that ran out, a name nobody has), and adding one checks it fresh. Each widget says what to paste.
2026-10-27: drawn in light
- new: Blueprint, a new entrance: your page draws itself as a plan in thin light lines, then every piece comes in exactly where it was drawn.
- new: New widgets: the weather where you are, your local time, a Minecraft player with NameMC, and one of your songs with its own play button.
- new: Put your widgets in a column of their own beside your card (under it on a phone), and up to six of them.
2026-10-27: stuck on you
- new: Stickers: put alias's own or your own pictures anywhere on your card, over its edges too, and drag, turn and size them right on it.
- new: Tuck one behind your card so it peeks out from the edge, or give it a spot of its own on phones.
- new: Three stickers free, twelve with Plus.
2026-10-27: the real ones
- new: Ranks wear their game's own rank pictures now: VALORANT, League, TFT, CS2, Dota 2, Overwatch, Apex, Fortnite, Rocket League and Marvel Rivals, each with its maker named.
- new: Rather have the crystal? Pick alias sigils for your whole ranked section in the Studio.
- improved: The rank picker and the team's desk show the same pictures, so a screenshot is quick to check.
2026-10-27: the cut
- new: Trim a song: drag two handles over its shape and your page plays only that part, fading in if you like.
- new: Pick what plays when a song ends: the next one, the same one again, or nothing at all.
- new: Room for ten songs with Plus, and shuffle: your songs in a random order, a new one each visit.
- new: Background, a new player that draws nothing: the song just plays once someone taps through your enter screen.
- new: Upload a song with tags (MP3, FLAC or M4A) and its title, artist and cover come along by themselves.
- fixed: A song that finished uploading no longer wipes the title you typed while it went up.
